Meet the team
The secretariat, located in London, UK, and representation in Italy, Spain and France is responsible for the day-to-day running of the association’s affairs, such as arrangements of council meetings, events management and marketing, maintaining the website, and communicating with members. ETOA has an advisory council and its own constitution.

CEO
Tom Jenkins
Tom has been CEO of ETOA for twenty years. Tom ensures ETOA’s financial viability and oversees the strategic development of all ETOA projects and practices. This includes keeping ETOA at the forefront of travel industry matters and reporting back to the membership on developments at a European level.

Director of Membership
Colin Atkins
Colin is responsible for the association’s memberships and partnerships. From managing ETOA’s global growth and profile to ensuring that its workshops, showcases and masterclasses reflect the diverse and changing needs of the members.

Director of Policy
Tim Fairhurst
Tim manages ETOA’s lobbying activities at EU, national and local levels, ensuring its non-commercial activity, from expert seminars to market research, matches member needs and policy priorities. He heads ETOA’s office in Brussels, liaising closely with industry partners, working groups and country representatives in destination.

Head of Projects
Arran Wiltshire
Arran is responsible for the delivery of the Partnerships in European Tourism programme, an EU initiative aimed at supporting tourism businesses and operators wishing to expand into the Chinese and US markets. Arran oversees operations, marketing and official reporting for the project.

Head of Communications
Rachel Read
Rachel is responsible for all ETOA communications. This includes delivery of the internal and external communications strategy across all channels, overseeing our external PR resources and development of our appointment management system.

Head of Events Management
Sara Hoare
Sara is responsible for coordinating all ETOA events including conferences, workshops, drinks receptions, seminars and attendance at major trade shows. Together with the rest of the Events & Operations team, she ensures all ETOA events run smoothly and efficiently providing the best experience to our event attendees.

Head of Operations and Destination Engagement
Sofie Jensen
Sofie worked in groups operations throughout Europe before joining ETOA. She works closely with Country Representatives, ETOA members and other stakeholders in destination to ensure we stay up to date with developments and provide actionable information to our membership.

Senior Manager, Buyers & Travel Technology
Jay Munro-Michell
Jay leads tour operators and technology. His role is to increase ETOA’s international visibility and representation, specifically developing the German speaking, Nordic & non-European markets. Prioritising the four main areas of ETOA, promoting the benefits of tourism, building a membership reflective of the industry, supplying information & intelligence and running great events.

Senior Manager, Suppliers & Partnerships
Róisín Donnelly
Róisín leads suppliers and partnership development. Her role is to increase ETOA’s international visibility and representation, specifically developing the UK & Irish markets. Prioritising the four main areas of ETOA, promoting the benefits of tourism, building a membership reflective of the industry, supplying information & intelligence and running great events.

Senior Digital Marketing Manager
Alberto Valtellino
Alberto is responsible for the ETOA website and the marketing plan for our flagship events. He also in charge of the ETOA presence at main travel trade exhibitions, including WTM in London and ITB in Berlin, and of the webinars.

HR Manager
Sonia Wilson
Sonia is responsible for the HR function at ETOA including overseeing recruitment and selection, learning and development and employee relations. She works very closely with the Executive team to identify organisational and individual capability requirements and align strategy, people and processes to optimise effectiveness and achieve organisation goals.

Digital Services Manager
Paul Draper
Paul ensures the smooth running and development of ETOA’s unique online appointment system for workshops and our relationship with Cvent, our event registration platform. He is also responsible for the IT service provision.

Finance Manager
Adele Minniti
Adele is responsible for payables and receivables ledger, cost and revenue analysis, management accounts, bank reconciliation and file of year end accounts.

Market Manager, France & Benelux
Yamin Saadi
Yamin’s role has the purpose to increase ETOA’s international visibility and representation, specifically targeting the French & Benelux markets. Prioritising the four main areas of ETOA, promoting the benefits of tourism, building a membership that is reflective of the industry, supplying information & intelligence and running great events.

Market Manager Italy, Malta
Manuela Saccone
Manuela’s role has the purpose to increase ETOA’s international visibility and representation, specifically targeting the Italian and Maltese markets. Prioritising the four main areas of ETOA, promoting the benefits of tourism, building a membership that is reflective of the industry, supplying information & intelligence and running great events.

Market Manager, Asia-Pacific
Elisa Li
Elisa’s role has the purpose to increase ETOA’s international visibility and representation, specifically targeting the Asia-Pacific markets. Prioritising the four main areas of ETOA, promoting the benefits of tourism, building a membership that is reflective of the industry, supplying information & intelligence and running great events.

Event Sales Manager
Magdalena Penz
Magdalena leads the event sales and registrations. Her aim is to ensure all attendees have the best possible experience and results at ETOA’s B2B workshops.

Manager, Operations and Destination Engagement
Simon Smith
Simon monitors regulatory developments affecting tours operations, from local taxes and city access restrictions, to driving regulations and the possible implications of Brexit. He also works closely with institutional stakeholders at European and national level, and ETOA’s industry partners.

Marketing Manager
Silvia Striani
Silvia manages the ETOA email communications, including our newsletter, the operational and policy updates, all the targeted communications and sponsored newsletter content and partner communications. She is also in charge of video production and editing and social media.

PA to CEO, Office Manager
Morgan-Hayley Bell
Morgan supports the Chief Executive Officer with his daily administrative needs and is the manager to an ever expanding office, with all its office requirements on a daily basis.

Karen Jensen
Karen is responsible for supporting the event sales manager. In this role Karen ensures that all events attendees are correctly registered and supported. She is also involved in various day-to-day administrative activities within the association.

Elena’s role is to support the membership growth team. She is also the first port of call for new Eastern European enquiries.

Naomi assists the Marketing team with all aspects of the delivery of the marketing strategy. Her role includes preparing and distributing email communications, media monitoring, event website maintenance and setting up CRM campaigns.

In memoriam
Nick Greenfield
Nick worked at ETOA for over fifteen years. He combined a restless enthusiasm for culture with a passion for sharing his knowledge. His zest was irrepressible. In Nick, the tourism industry had a mine of information and a stalwart defender of its interests. His friends and colleagues remember him as a great and gentle companion.
