European Travel Marketplace Asia-Pacific 2024 Reviews

European Travel Marketplace Asia-Pacific (ETMAPAC) is an online workshop platform which enables members with product to link and sell to buyers from Asian markets. The origin markets in Asia covered by this event represent important long-term growth markets with which we want to engage. Our online format means that attendees can have preset appointments without the time and expense of travelling to Asia.

Whilst many delegates had a valuable experience in 2024, some found that it did not live up to their expectation levels. The average score of just three stars out of five is well below what we aim to deliver and what our members expect. The main driver for this was the “no shows,” which are difficult to control remotely, especially as the relationship we have with buyers is more tentative. Where “no shows” occurred, we did everything we could to re-connect those who had missed appointments. We know that such action is remedial and only goes so far.

Multiple no-show, no follow-up of the teams on the attendance of the buyers...

Wish to have more committed buyers
From the meeting quality point of view, we had 18 meetings booked but with 8 no shows. Buyer quality is not perfect fit for our company product. We wish to have more buyers which will make Nordic products.

A good virtual show to meet the asean markets
quite a few no shows. The canceled meeting were not very well indicated.

Thank you for submitting this review. We are sorry that you were affected by "no shows". We are working on ways to ensure this does not happen at the same volume again. If they do occur in future, we will try to give due warning. This is not without problems as it is difficult to determine what is happening. We do not want to cancel someone who then shows up.

A friendly online exhibition atmosphere.
This online exhibition has exceeded my expectations. First of all, the businesses and products of most of the invited merchants are quite in line with my expectations. Secondly, when talking with these partners, they all show a very friendly attitude and patience. Moreover, most of them would ask me at the end: How do you consider the cooperation between us, do you think we have a chance to cooperate? This makes me feel that they also attach great importance to the Chinese market and treat this meeting very seriously. The atmosphere of the entire exhibition is very good, which reminds me of the years when everyone was full of hope for cooperation, and consensus can even surpass language, forming a tacit understanding of communication in a short period of time.

Half an event
For half of the meetings, no one showed up. It's not nice to wake up at 6 am and reserve over four hours for meetings but only have half of them. The "buyers", mostly from India for some reason, didn't show up and should get somekind of a yellow card for further events. Wasting time for serious suppliers. There were a couple of interesting meetings though so maybe something comes out of this.
