ETOA Impact Survey: European visa facilitation in Asia, 2025

ETOA has launched a survey about visa facilitation in Asia. We know that many destinations have reported lost MICE and leisure business due to problems which are unrelated to reasonable security concerns.

Persistent issues include: discrepancies in documentary requirements, shortage of appointments, lack of capacity to respond to short-notice requests. Equally, some issuing countries’ service levels may have improved and deserve recognition.

At a time when political sensitivities related to border controls are high it is important that accurate information informs decisions. Border security and better visa facilitation are not mutually exclusive, and both are in Europe’s long-term interest.

Please feel free to share the link to the survey with operators and DMCs in your network who work with visa-requiring Asia-outbound leisure and MICE business: it is open to all.
