Taxe Touristique / Toeristenbelasting
The tourist tax (taxe touristique or toeristenbelasting) also known as city tax (stadsbelastingen) is decided by local governments (municipalities) using the flat rate per person or room, per night.
Below are selected destinations and further information can be found by clicking on the name of the destination.
Future rates agreed by local government (per current regulation as of 22 February 2021)
Antwerp – Remain at €2.80 per person, per night (excl. VAT) until 1 January 2025
Bruges – Remain at €2.83 per person, per night (excl. VAT) until 1 January 2026.
Ghent – Remain at €2.83 per person, per night (excl. VAT) until 1 January 2025.
Kortrijk – Remain at €1.75 per person, per night (excl. VAT) until 1 January 2025.
Ostend – Remain at €2.83 per person, per night (excl. VAT) until 1 January 2025.
