Growth is anticipated in 2022 but even the more optimistic scenario sees volumes 50% below 2019 by the end of the current year. A 15-page report considering the performance of the tourism sector during summer 2021 and looking ahead to prospects for autumn. The focus of the report is on Italy, but includes a number of other destinations across Europe. It suggests that while there has been a strong bounce-back pre-Covid levels are yet to be achieved, with August flight bookings to Italy being 46% down on 2019.
